Prior to being elected to the Ohio House of
Representatives in November 2004, Joe had been a Miami Township Trustee
(Clermont County) for 14 years.
Joe holds a Bachelors degree in Public Administration from Northern
Kentucky University and an Associates degree from the University of
Cincinnati. Joe received a license as an Ohio "Certified
Public Manager" in October of 2001.
Joe is recently retired as the Administrator for the Clermont County
Engineer’s Office for the past 12 years. He also served as a Police
Officer for 15 years and computer systems sales for 5 years. Also a past
business owner, Joe is now a full time legislator.
Joe is involved in local politics as a member of the Clermont County
Republican Party, and also a member of the Republican Central Committee.
Joe is also a member of the Ohio Republican Party.
Joe Uecker grew up in the Miamiville area of Miami Township. In 1987,
Joe and his wife Patti purchased and moved into the house he grew up in
where he still resides today. Joe and Patti have four children; a son
who is a Lieutenant and graduate of the United States Air Force Academy
in Colorado Springs and fighter pilot, a daughter in college in northern
Ohio, a son who is attending the University of Cincinnati, and a son in
high school.
In addition to time spent as a Township Trustee, Joe devotes much of
his time working with area youths serving in various capacities with the
Boy Scouts of America including as a former Cub Scout Den Leader and
former Boy Scout Assistant Scoutmaster as well as current merit badge
counselor. In 2001 and again in 2002, Joe served as the Boy Scout's area
chairman for the "Friends of Scouting" fundraising campaign.
An avid outdoorsman, Joe is also a volunteer instructor with the Ohio
Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division teaching several
"Hunter Safety" courses in the community each year. He enjoys
hunting, fishing, golf, and especially enjoys playing guitar with his
local church music group whenever possible.
