Re-Elect Joe Uecker 66th district State Representative
Joe Announces

Dear Friend,

I am sending you this message to announce my candidacy for the 2004 Republican nomination for Ohio’s House of Representatives, 66th District.  The 66th district is comprised of Miami, Goshen, Union and Batavia Townships, the Villages of Amelia and Batavia along with parts of the Cities of Milford and Loveland. The seat is currently held by Rep. Jean Schmidt who will be running for Ohio’s 14th Senate District.

I have been a Miami Township Trustee for the past 13 years.  I hold a bachelors degree in Public Administration from Northern Kentucky University as well as being an Ohio Certified Public Manager.  In addition, I am well known as the Administrator for the Clermont County Engineer’s Office.

A 15-year veteran police officer- turned- public administrator, I know all too well the importance of safety and security of a community.  I understand the cause and effects of having tough and enforceable laws on the books.  I even  wrote a law that was introduced by the late Rep. Sam Bateman and later adopted that kept work related auto accidents of safety-service and highway maintenance personnel from being used to increase their personal insurance rates.

A life-long resident of Miami Township, I live in the house I grew up in with my wife Patti of 28 years.  We have four children.  Christopher, a 2002 graduate of the USAF Academy is commissioned as a lieutenant and a pilot in the US Air Force. Julie is a senior pharmacy student on an academic scholarship at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.  Daniel is a sophomore business college student at the University of Cincinnati.  Timothy is an 8th grade student at St. Columban School in Loveland.

The issue that has to be faced immediately is to correct and then heal the climate in Ohio that has chased away businesses that provide jobs and help relieve the individual tax burden.  To ensure that our citizens feel safe and secure in their own homes through tough and enforceable criminal laws is paramount. Certainly not the least of issues is the vigilant protection of our constitutional rights and the rights of those not able to protect and secure for themselves.

I ask for you support, guidance, and prayers.

Please forward this to all your friends and family in the district.

God Bless,

Joe
