To:
The Miami Township Board of Trustees and Clerk
Honorable
Trustee Ed Humphrey
Honorable
Trustee Mary Makley Wolff
Honorable
Clerk Eric Ferry
Dear
fellow Board Members and Friends,
It
is with a heavy heart that I respectfully now tender my
intention to resign my position as a Miami Township
Trustee effective January 2, 2005, pending election
certification by the Ohio Secretary of State.
As your State Representative Elect, I feel this
immediate notification will better enable you to begin the
process of selecting my successor in accordance with Ohio
Law.
I
cannot begin to describe how much I have enjoyed being a
Miami Township Trustee these past 14 years.
Together we have seen the Township through many
changes and challenges. We have planned for the future and
have actually seen it become our past.
I especially have enjoyed meeting the many good
friends I never would have met had I not traveled this
path in my life.
To
Trustee and very good friend Ed Humphrey and Former
Trustee Jean Schmidt, I thank you for believing in me by
giving me the opportunity 14 years ago to begin my service
as a Miami Township Trustee.
I also want to thank the voters of Miami Township
for their trust in me as evidenced by four successful
Township Trustee elections.
To
Eric Ferry and Mary Wolff, it has been a sincere pleasure
to work and serve with the both of you.
Your height of dedication to your sworn office is
rarely found in public service. The Township owes you both
a debt of gratitude for the excellent job you do.
To
our Administrator Dave Duckworth and our long time serving
department heads, Walt Fischer, Steve Bailey, Jim
Whitworth, and Larry Fronk, my successes originate in your
dedication and performance to your positions. My proudest
accomplishment is in having had a hand in bringing you on
board to your present positions with the Township.
A special thanks goes to Law Director John
Korfhagen for keeping us all mostly out of trouble.
Thanks
also goes to all the other excellent employees of Miami
Township. It is often said by this Board of Trustees and
Clerk that “you all make us look good” by the great
jobs you do.
As
I embark on this new frontier in my life, I will always
take great pride in our teamwork over the years and hope
that my new position will only aid in keeping Miami
Township the “Greatest Place to Live, Work, and Play”.
Please
keep me in your prayers,
Sincerely,
Joseph
W. Uecker
