Experience - Joe has been a Miami Township Trustee since
1990.
Education - Joe holds a Bachelors degree in Public Administration from Northern Kentucky University and an Associates degree from the University of Cincinnati. Joe received a license as an Ohio "Certified Public Manager" in October of 2001. Work History - Joe's full time occupation has been as the administrator with the Clermont County Engineer's Office since 1993. Republican - Joe is involved in local politics as a member of the Clermont County Republican Party, and also a member of the Republican Central Committee. Joe believes in small local government, such as township government, and in 1991, he called for the creation of the "Future Government Committee" which consisted of other community volunteers and leaders who studied the current form of government and options for the future of the township. While incorporating into a city was studied at length, a new option of becoming a "Home Rule" Township became the option of choice which the Township later adopted. "The delivery of top-notch, professional services, is our number one priority. Our residents deserve this, as well as demand it. We have some of the most professional Fire, EMS, and Police Officers the tri-state area has to offer. This will continue to be my mission and goal. Along with one of the finest park systems any area government has to offer, Miami Township is truly the 'Gem of the East' in southwest Ohio". Joe Uecker grew up in the Miamiville area of Miami Township. In 1987, Joe and his wife Patti purchased and moved into the house he grew up in where he still resides today. Joe and Patti have four children; a son who is a Lieutenant and graduate of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, a daughter in college in northern Ohio, a son who is attending the University of Cincinnati, and a son in the eighth grade." In addition to time spent as a Township Trustee, Joe devotes much of
his time working with area youths serving in various capacities with the
Boy Scouts of America including as a Cub Scout Den Leader and as a Boy
Scout Assistant Scoutmaster as well as merit badge counselor. In 2001
and again for 2002, Joe serves as the Boy Scout's area chairman for the
"Friends of Scouting" fundraising campaign. An avid
outdoorsman, Joe is also a volunteer instructor with the Ohio Department
of Natural Resources Wildlife Division teaching several "Hunter
Safety" courses in the community each year. He enjoys hunting,
fishing, golf, and especially enjoys playing guitar in his local church
music group. Click here to learn more about Joe Joe's Opening Remarks at the League of Women Voter Forum on February 18, 2004 |
