Governor signs bill sponsored by State Representative Joe Uecker benefiting private property owners and manufactured home parks

Miami Township, July 19, 2007:  After receiving complaints from private property owners who rent land to manufactured home owners that occasionally when the manufactured home out lasts its useful life its owner abandons the home and skips town, Rep. Uecker introduced legislation that assists that private property owner in removing the abandoned mobile home after a streamlined legal process so that the property owner can continue the best use of their property.

“I’ve worked on this legislation for the last three years,” reports Rep. Uecker.  “I first introduced this legislation during the last General Assembly but it was too late in the term and made it out of committee but not on the House floor.”   “This term I introduced the bill very early, and worked with both sides of the aisle”, said Uecker alluding to the unanimous vote the legislation received on both the House and the Senate floors.

The bill was signed by Governor Strickland on Thursday, July 19^th with Rep. Uecker and members of the staff as well as industry officials present.
